Standing with Ukraine

No one can doubt that what we presently see unfolding in Ukraine is nothing less than a human tragedy.

From afar, we find ourselves consumed by our own thoughts and prayers, understandably and rightly so. But these won’t help the Ukrainian people where they are, they need our urgent and direct support.

Like so many others we feel compelled to do our small part. And we thought, instead of a straightforward private donation, why not get our business involved too and join forces with our very own guests? Together we can raise more, do more and make a real difference for those both under threat and in dire need.

So this is what we came up with: for as long as this war continues, we invite you to make a voluntary donation when you book with us and we pledge to match it, dollar for dollar up to 10% of the total costs of your reservation. In other words, if you choose to give, we’ll double it.

You can simply add your your donation as an add-on to your reservation when you book with us (just enter a multiple of $20 by clicking the ‘amount’ button). Alternatively, just let us know if you’d like to participate and we’ll add it to your invoice.

All donations such received and matched will go to UNICEF Ukraine to help the most vulnerable of all - the children of Ukraine. We’ll do so by means of a standing monthly contribution to UNICEF’s funding appeals for the same.

In our previous lives before starting Logden Lodge, we worked both with and for UNICEF in many a crisis situation. We vouch for both their efficacy and efficiency in reaching and delivering essential goods and services for children in need wherever they are, including along routes of displacement and on the front lines.

In addition, we have worked alongside UNICEF’s current Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, whom together with UNICEF’s Representative in Ukraine is responsible for directing UNICEF’s in-country emergency response - from this we can say firsthand their ongoing efforts couldn’t be in more experienced and capable hands.

More information on UNICEF’s activities and the needs of children in Ukraine can be found here and here.

We thank you in advance for your generosity and jointly with you we’d like to extend our continued and unwavering support to all Ukrainian people in the face of this unprovoked and violent attack on their freedom, their democracy and their very lives.
